Affymetrix Sample Submission

Setup a project through our  on-line ordering system.  Order chips through the project or online store. Submit samples for QC, labeling, hybridization and scanning to that project.

Important!   The quality of the RNA is essential to the overall success of the analysis.   RNA extracted should be of high purity. Provide the following information when submitting samples to CGRB Core Laboratories for gene expression analysis.  If possible, please provide double the amount of RNA recommended below for labeling. Bioanalyzer quality analysis will need at least 100ng extra RNA.

RNA Isolation Method All samples prepared by exactly the same method. See recommended methods.
Nanodrop Spectrophotometric Reading A 260/280 between 1.9 - 2.1
Bioanalyzer Quality Control No evidence of RNA degradation. RIN of 7.0 or above.
Concentration Eukaryotic Total RNA   - Regular (One-Cycle Affymetrix) 2 - 5 µg   / 9 µl water, identical across samples
Concentration Eukaryotic Total RNA   - Small Sample (Two-Cycle Affymetrix) 10 - 100 ng / 3 µl, identical across samples
Concentration Prokaryotic Total RNA 10 µg / 18 µl water, identical across samples
Concentration Total RNA for Whole Transcript -cDNA synthesis for Tiling Arrays Consult with CGRB
Concentration genomic DNA for Expression or Tiling Arrays 300 ng / 30 µl water, identical across samples
Biological Replicates Indicate biological replicates by naming all replicated the same.
Experiment Name All samples in an experiment will have the file name prefaced by the experiment name.
