Mail Lists

We support two genres of email lists:

• User Lists - for users to exchange information and for us to notify a group of users.
• Support Lists - for users to ask the CGRB Core Lab staff a question about a resource.

User Lists

We manage CGRB user mail lists with the Mailman application. Mailman allows users to subscribe and unsubscribe from a given list through a web interface.

Typically, list members can send mail directly to a list. Mail from non-members will be moderated, meaning that someone at the CGRB will determine if the mail should be sent to the list or deleted.

Occasionally, the email address of a list member is used by a third party or computer virus to spam an email list. In that event, that email address will be deleted from the mail list. We will advise the list member and ask him/her to resubscribe with a new email address.

Scattered throughout the web site you will find the mail icon which is a shortcut to the Mailman index page.

Support-related email lists are not visible in the Mailman index page because these lists are not subscribable. These email lists include:
