How To Get Your Results

Sequencing files are posted to the CGRB server. You can access this computer to retrieve sequences by logging onto the web-ordering site and following the procedures below

  • Click on "Data" from the main menu on the left-hand side of the window.
  • Choose the type of data that you want to download from the dropdown list and submit.
  • Pick the File(s) that you want to download and submit. By holding the control button down on your keyboard, you can select more than 1 sample. There are ".seq" and ".ab1" files in this list. The ".seq" files are the sequence text. The ".ab1"files are the sequence traces, which can only be opened by certain programs (see below).
  • Save the zip file to your local drive.

Hard copies of trace files are sent via campus mail (if requested) or placed in the file folder at the entrance of the Core Labs. To view the trace files you can download the following programs for free:
